Celebrity wildlife campaigner Bindi Irwin has announced she is expecting her first child with husband Chandler Powell.
Ms Irwin, 22, announced her pregnancy to her 3.6 million Instagram fans on Tuesday night and says she is due in 2021.
“Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting!” she wrote.
“It’s an honour to share this special moment in our lives with you.
“Though I’m still in my first trimester, we really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter.
“We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives.
“Your support means the world to us. Please let me know your best advice and send good vibes & prayers to our little sweetheart.”
Mr Powell, 23, shared his own post on Instagram on Tuesday night.
“We have a baby Wildlife Warrior on the way coming in 2021.
“Becoming a dad is the highlight of my life. I cannot wait to embark on this new adventure and life chapter with my gorgeous wife.
“Bee, you’re going to be the most amazing mother.”
The pair were married at the Sunshine Coast’s Australia Zoo at the end of March, without guests because of the pandemic.
Ms Irwin said it was a “difficult decision” marrying without friends and family, but it was “important to keep everyone safe”.
“Our family and friends couldn’t be there to celebrate with us. However, they all encouraged us to continue on and get married. From their love and support, we felt love win,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
